Understanding Different Cultures

Culture is the buzzword in business these days, especially international business. If you understand the nuances and subtleties of other cultures, you have a competitive advantage.

You need to have an insight into other ways of approaching things. Chinese and US cultures, for instance, differ on many levels and some are well known, in areas such as how to achieve status and the formation and structure of social relationships. Equally important is to realise which are the grey areas across cultures, and where different cultures overlap or share similarities.

We strongly believe that a really good place to start is to find common ground among cultures, and develop relations from there - rather than always looking for differences or starting from that position.

Based on our experience, expertise and research, we are building up a database of vital guides to Japanese, Chinese, American, Russian, Scandinavian and English business cultures, and key areas of overlap. If you have any relevant and useful information that you would be willing to part with in order to add to our database, then please drop us an e-mail.

For now, we are happy to provide customised-advice according to your circumstances. Just contact us via e-mail.
